Trading Realistically With Demo Accounts Online
Generally trading realistically with demo accounts online is a partially true and partially not very true fact. Trading with demo accounts has more of its benefits for the new traders who are just beginning with the forex trading, as it gives them a general idea of the way in which the market works and how a company's software work. But the demo accounts doesn’t really take into consideration the very important facts that plays vital role during the forex trading like emotions, capital to be invested, etc.
But using demo accounts for trading realistically can be possible too if certain factors are modified or manipulated. Although trading via a demo account can never offer the same results that would be possible in live trading, but still there are various things an investor can do when examining the systems on a demo platform to get as realistic results as possible.
Making realistic assumptionsIf a bid value is placed, and you can see that the bid or offer was not as per that particular move of yours, and your order was not filled due to a minor difference. But the demo trading account might present this order as filled, whereas in the real market, this won’t happen and hence trading realistically with demo accounts online doesn’t seems feasible. Eliminate the profits or losses from these trades from the net profit/loss shown on the simulator – as if the trade never existed. Only assume bids or offers are filled if price trades through the bid or offer by at least a cent more. For sparsely traded reserves or low-volume reserves this buffer should be extended.
Account for SlippageAssume the slippage on market orders like a one-cent slippage on high volume stocks, and a larger slippage can be imagined for the lower volume or more volatile stocks.
Trading With self-effacing Capitalit is counted as the most important fact for using demo accounts for trading realistically. It should be tried to trade with the same amount of funds in the demo account as that will be traded in the live market. If it is not possible with the demo account, then trade only a part of the demo account capital. Don't access any funds from the demo capital which would be in excess of live trading funds.
For trading realistically with demo accounts online, it is necessary to act as if the money is real as much as possible. The trader requires facing the factors like fear of loosing money, a feel of success when the trade becomes successful. As demo capital provides no real loss or profits, so the sense of loss or profit needs to be added in by the trader.
